Tiny Dancer Photoshoot

Hi! :] I hope everyone is having a great week so far. I am so busy, but I guess I can't complain...there's so much going on, I should feel blessed! So anyways I got to thinking that rather than complaining about how bad I've been, maybe I should show you some of what I've been up to?

I did a photoshoot last night for my styling class again. At first I wasn't particularly happy with it, but after some hours editing in PhotoShop, I must say that I kind of LOVE it. The theme was the cliche bulimic ballerina. My beautiful friend and schoolmate, Kristy, was kind enough to model for me! :]

Gaga for this Photoshoot!

Heyyy! Sorry I haven't posted yet this month...so bad! I have been EXTREMELY bogged down with classes, meetings, events, and photoshoots, it's not even funny!

That said, I thought you all would appreciate one of my favorite projects ever that I shot with a very talented photographer, Alaina Prisbrey (follow her AMAZING blog NOW!!!), and my dear friend Jess who modeled for us. Alaina is sooo precise and has such a great eye, I really do admire how gifted she is!

My assignment was to recreate a photo styled by a famous stylist. Since MOST stylists style celebrities and models, it's kind of difficult recreating a picture unless you know someone who looks like, well, a celebrity or an already-famous model. That's where Jess came in.

Since Jess has (reluctantly!) had to hear time and time again that she resembles Lady Gaga, I thought that would be a fun, creative, and challenging celeb to recreate. Gaga's stylist, Nicola Formichetti, has basically done all of her styling since she first came on the scene. I was limited to picking something simple enough to redo (I mean, come on, her outfits are as far from typical as they come!), yet powerful enough to get a strong reaction out of people.

Small Haul: Ulta & Inglot

So ever since Inglot opened here in South Florida, I have been ecstatic! I've been to the NYC location mannnny times, but having it in a local mall is different than having to drudge through tourist hell in Times Square to get to my precious Inglot! I particularly love this company because it's great quality for the affordable pricepoints, and completely made in Poland. I happen to be a pure 50% Polish and speak it fluently, thus a rare Polish find gets me very excited!

I also stopped into Ulta to get a few things I needed for an upcoming photoshoot and to take advantage of my 20% off entire order coupon that was expiring.

These items may seem kind of boring, but they're actually extremely useful and versatile for what they are! Let me explain my purchases:

--NYX Jumbo Pencil--great as an eyeliner, eyeshadow base, and even a blush or lipstick (if desperate enough!)

--NYX Candy Liner--I'd been wanting MAC Reflects 3D Silver and while I wouldn't exactly call this a dupe, it's definitely a satisfying cheaper alternative

--LA Splash Eyeshadow Sealer/Base--this works as well (if not better) as DUO Eyelash Adhesive to stick lightweight objects to the skin for more avant-garde makeup looks

--Inglot Perfect Concealer--I got this to use in place of a MAC Chromagraphic Pencil, which is like a fleshtoned lipliner to clean up the outside of the lipshape or smudged lipliner

--Inglot Under Makeup Base--I am running out of my Too Faced Primed & Poreless primer and like to try out other products, thus this was a great $11 alternative!

Zoya Nailpolish Haul

Hey everyone! So yesterday I FINALLY received my Zoya nailpolish order that I had placed back on January 8th. Yeah, I waited for kind of a while, but I was more excited to see the package in my mailbox out of anticipation than aggravation.

The thing is that they were running a promotion where if you ordered 3 regular, full-sized nailpolishes and entered a special code, you got them all for FREE and just paid $6.95 for shipping. The nailpolishes retail for $7.00 each on the site, so that's a savings of $21.00!!! I found out about the promotion about an hour before it IMMEDIATELY, which is why I didn't get a chance to tell you guys about it...I knew it'd be too late by the time most of you read the post, and that woulda just been mean. :/

Anyway, I understand why a free order wasn't their first priority to ship out, so I understood to be patient. I was just so excited to receive my goodies, especially since I had never tried Zoya polishes before. I read good things all over the blogosphere, so I wasn't worried at all.

So without further ado, let's see my Zoya nailpolish haul! :]
