Yes, it's true...the Tim Burton rendition of Alice in Wonderland hits theatres in the U.S. on March 5, 2010. I don't know about you, but I am SOOO STOKED! This storyline has always caught me as crazily amazing, and with all the buzz about the movie, I just HAD to share this amazing find with you all!
Urban Decay is releasing a third Book of Shadows palette dedicated to the upcoming film. If you have seen any pictures of the makeup and cinematography from it, then you already know how awesome it looks! Fabulous artists made this one happen!!!
The Alice in Wonderland palette will be available before it hits stores (like Sephora) on January 15th exclusively from their website. I don't know when it will hit the stores, but I assume it will be before the movie comes out, and that it will be retailing for about the same price that the previous Book of Shadows palettes did (around $48). Keep your eyes peeled! I do admit that a lot of these shades look like dupes, but you can't beat the price for what's included! And, especially for those of you just starting to really "build" your collection (from an artistic/professional standpoint) that may not have any other Urban Decay palettes yet, this is a great, great start! The color payoff is high, as with most other U.D. products. And, as if that isn't enough, the top of it pops up into an abbreviated version of Alice's voyage through Mushroom Forest! I could just die!!!!☺
The palette includes (16) assorted glitter/shimmer Eyeshadows, (2) 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils, and (1) miniature version of the invaluable Eyeshadow Primer Potion.
Here are swatches of the eyeshadows (click to enlarge):
And here are swatches of the eyeliners:
I definitely plan on purchasing this palette ASAP and wearing the colors to the premiere. If you need inspiration, definitely Google the movie and check out images--uber cool!
If you think you can handle any more excitement for one day, you'll be thrilled to know that O.P.I. is also paying homage to Alice in Wonderland by releasing a limited edition line dedicated to the movie! So, now you can watch the movie AND hold your popcorn in style!
The series includes 4 colors:
1. Off With Her Red! (fiery red)
2. Absolutely Alice (lake blue glitter)
3. Mad As A Hatter (black rainbow glitter)
4. Thanks So Muchness! (shimmery red)
Nailpolish swatches below:
Find them now at your local beauty suppy store ($8.50 each)!
